Jurg Bartholdi Joins the San Diego Office

Jurg BartholdiAs the Invetech San Diego office continues to expand at a rapid pace, one of Invetech’s most senior instrument developers, Jurg Bartholdi, has joined its ranks from our Melbourne office. Jurg’s experience and expertise enhances our North American development capabilities, and will further enable us to deliver the exceptional project outcomes our customers have come to expect.

Jurg has been with Invetech since 1998 and has evolved into one of our most respected program managers. For his role in San Diego, he will be active in providing leadership across diagnostic projects, and the business in general. Apart from being a skilled instrument developer, Jurg is a seasoned presenter and recently made a splash at the MF5 Microfluidics Consortium in February with his presentation “Microfluidics for Point of Care”, which highlighted real-world examples of the pitfalls and challenges companies can face when entering this rapidly growing diagnostic market segment.

Jurg is particularly experienced in the Point of Care market (molecular and immunoassay), having managed a range of programs over the years. Recent project examples include an Australian start-up for the design and development of a bench top point of care reader for blood analysis. This project included the design of the corresponding test cartridge and the manufacturing processes for both the biosensor and disposable cartridge. He also led the development of a breakthrough Point of Care technology for a major Japanese corporation looking to diversify from its core consumer electronics market.

Jurg, who holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering (ETH Zurich), and an MBA from Melbourne Business School said that he was “Delighted to be making the city of San Diego his home, and enjoying the dual challenges of growing our San Diego office’s internal capability, and fostering relationships with new clients.”
